- Jeremiah 29: 1-3A letter Jeremiah wrote to the exiles
- Jeconiah aka Johiachin aka 597 BC. Nebuchadnezzar took him back to Babylon with him. Nebuchadnezzar installed Zedekiah as king in Judah a puppet government.
- Zedekiah sent 2 people to Babylon, probably with “tribute”, and probable sneaked Jeremiah’s letter to Babylonian exiles.

- Jeremiah 29:24-32Shemaiah: been writing letters to Jerusalem, to Zephaniah, a “Sargent of arms” in the temple. “The LORD has made you priest, calling Jeremiah a mad man, Why have you, Zephaniah, not put him in stocks?!
- Because Shemaiah was not sent from Me, YHVH, he and his descendants will not have anyone living through the captivity and make it back to Jerusalem.
